Taa’ruf

Assalamualikummm- May Peace and Blessings be upon you πŸ™‚Β  We, Falak and Miss Maqsood, welcome you to our new virtual abode.
After lots of convincing and in greed of audience we finally took the big step to shift here. πŸ™‚

Best friends from elementary school still going strong Alhamdulilah. πŸ™‚ NRIs our entire lives having lived in KSA, living or kinda surviving in Hyderabad now.

We both love rambling about everything, you give us a topic we will go on it. πŸ˜›
We talk a lot, so much that our parents believe the energy we get from our food is utilised for this sole purpose. And back in the day (school days) they also believed we were the reason behind high landline bills. Guilty as charged.

Kinda crazy, kinda corny, very filmi, likes philosophizing ,reading, getting high with friends, good food, baking (Falak)& hogging (Miss Maqsood) and sleeeeeeping.Β

About the blog…

One fine day we both , tired of zalim dunya, were busy venting in CCD, and the light bulb went off in our heads “Lets start our blog” coz we wanted to voice our “zaalim dunya ke roney” πŸ˜›

Got excited about it but that didn’t last long coz we were confused about what to blog about.(Now we can’t really blog about zalim dunya, but maybe sometime in the future you’ll hear about it from us)

Book reviews? Nah too much of critique.
Cooking? A BIG NO πŸ˜›
Poltical? NAH…not because we are ignorant but wheres the funn in it?
Photography? Nope 😦

Then whatt?? Another bulb went off and lets start with the Kiraak-ness ofΒ Hyderabad.
So after deliberating and contemplating long enough about the topic, name, and the likes of our blog we present you Nawabi Musings.

Why Nawabi, we hear you ask, simply because we belong toΒ  the Nawabi-land . *teehee*
As we have said earlier this blog isn’t about any one particular thing. We will share our vishesh charche with you as much as possible.
Yes, we might get MIA sometimes and leave our blog lawaaris, thats coz we have pretty hectic college lives. AndΒ  when we aren’t busy with college, we are busy getting our sleeping dose or reading dose. But we will try our best to be regular and not to be procrastinators insha’Allah πŸ™‚

That pretty much sums us up.
Sooo when you get here, introduce yourselves and leave your message in the comment box below. Would love to hear from you people.

Hope you enjoy your stay here. =)

Dear Falak and Miss Maqsood πŸ™‚
Happy to hear from the two bubbly girls from another corner of my country. I like the story behind those huge landline bills πŸ˜‰ and life in KSA must have really been charming!
you know here in central india ,places like bhopal and lucknow also follow nawabi practices. I hail from bhopal. Hence, I was particularly attracted to this title ” Nawabi Musings” . Interesting !
i am sure your blog will keep me happily occupied.
    Nice digging this blog πŸ™‚

    • Walekumassalam Maryammm!
Glad to have you here, my bhartiya friend πŸ™‚
Haha what can we say about the bills :P. Oh yes life’s beeen amazing there Alhamdulilah, KSA is Home ❀
Just recently I was watching a food show/documentary of Lucknow and just for the love of food, I want to visit that place. And Bhopal, if I am not mistaken was also under the Nizam's rule, so yes we share the same Nizami/Nawabi roots πŸ˜‰
We hope so tooo Maryamm! inshaAllah πŸ™‚
Thank You soo much for digging our blog πŸ˜‰

      • Yes bhopal was under the nawab rule for a very long time. nawabi sheher aur nawabi adaten ; ) they have ruined us πŸ˜›
Because you are a food lover, I must not forget to mention that here we have a street named ‘chuttory gali’ . That has small eateries selling Chinese, non veg cuisines. The aroma of soups and spices when one crosses this street is hypnotising for the taste buds. One can foretaste.

  5. I wasn’t reading your intro but you were reciting it to me.Yes I mean to say that it was good, actually very good.Yes you are filmy and I loved how you mixed a little urdu and hindi at different places.Your english(read language) is somewhat exquisite,a type which I don’t often get to read.
I am already following your blog for a strong nawabi dose. πŸ™‚

  6. Thank You so much for following our blog and leaving a comment here.
Aah! What do we say about mixing languages, it tends to happen when you are multilingual :P. Lol exquisite, really? Haha thank you so much. We appreciate the tareef a lot.
Yay, thank you again for subscribing to our blog, Jafar. πŸ™‚
